Port Moody Optometry has invested in cutting edge technology developed to help your doctor prevent blindness with the iVue Fourier Domain Technology Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT): OCT testing is the most advanced way to examine the 10 layers of nerves and receptors that make up the retina. The iVue OCT is a very high resolution ultrasound that is used by eye specialists to diagnose and monitor diseases like glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and other diseases of the retina. It can detect signs of eye disease years before the tests used in a traditional eye exam. The iVue OCT imaging will also help your doctor follow any changes in your retina and optic nerve which will help evaluate the effect of various treatment techniques.
